How to Style Maxi Dresses for Winter

 Did you think maxi dresses were only worn in the summer? Think again. Although these floor-length beauties are frequently worn in warmer months, they can also be worn in winter with the right layering.

The thin-strapped, backless varieties might need to wait until next summer, but there are full-sleeved, knitted options that are suitable for chilly temperatures. As a personal shopper, I frequently demonstrate to clients how to make the most of their current items; all you need to do is be creative! Here are some styling suggestions for a maxi dress that will keep you warm, cozy, and just as stylish this winter.

1. Maxi Dress with a Leather Jacket

Finding a jacket to wear over a long dress can be difficult due to its floor-length finish. Cropped coats can also look unflattering, while longline coats can suffocate you in fabric. When worn with maxi dresses, a waist-synching leather jacket looks proportionate and enhances your figure. To complete this rebellious, street style outfit, put on a pair of the must-have combat boots for this season or a pair of white sneakers.

2. Maxi dress with a vest or fur

Choose a knitted or floral long-sleeved maxi dress, and add a sleeveless faux-fur vest or gillet on top for a snug and cozy look. The gillet adds a winter styling element to the dress while giving the look a boho feel. Ankle boots, a winter  fedora, and statement sunglasses will finish off your outfit.

3. Midi dresses

What about midi dresses that are in the middle of these two lengths? Wearing knee-high boots and thick undertights will help keep your legs warm. In the winter, I adore the look of a knit or flouncy midi dress paired with a stunning knee-high boot. For the ideal winter outfit, add a stunning long coat to the ensemble.

4.Turtlenecks

One of the best wintertime strategies for staying warm is layering. For maxi dresses, you can either layer a knit turtleneck jumper on top or wear a thin, thermal turtleneck underneath. 5. Shirt dresses

In the winter, a shirt dress? why not Because it can be styled so many different ways, a shirt dress is the ideal layering item for winter. You can wear a button-down shirt dress fully buttoned, partially buttoned, or open like a long coat!

Wear a turtleneck and leather leggings while leaving the buttons on your shirt undone below the waist. For a distinctive, stylized look, I love to layer a shirt dress over a pair of cropped jeans and ankle boots. For a fantastic layered look, include a shorter outerwear item.

Winter need not be gloomy and miserable. You can continue to wear your vibrant and colorful maxi dresses as the weather gets colder by layering the proper clothing. You will add some color to the otherwise dreary weather. How energizing!
